On 8 July 2011, Dorothee Fischer, Vice-President of RECREATURA_arts&culture, participated in the launch conference of the European project VIT which took place in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The 3-year project brings together more than 20 partners from across Europe who will work together to discuss and promote volunteering, active citizenship and participation issues. It will therefore also be connected to the European Year of Volunteering 2011 and the European Year for Active Ageing 2012. The lead partner is the European NGO Association of the Local Democracy Agencies which is one of the most active actors in the field of citizenship and participation in Europe today, being a strategic partner of the “Europe for Citizens” programme of the European Union.
It is the first time that RECREATURA becomes partner in a European project of this size. Our role will be to organise a two-day workshop concerning volunteering and active citizenship in times of crisis to take place in Valencia in spring 2012.
