Charity Concert at the Palau de la Música
We would like to wish you all a happy new 2010 and hope that you are motivated to embark on another exciting cultural journey with us in the 12 months to come.
Our first event on 2 February 2010 consists of a charity concert at the Palau de la Música featuring the Valencian choir Cambra Amalthea which will be organised in cooperation with the NGO ARTS, cultura y desarrollo (culture and development). ARTS was set up about a year ago with the goal to foster sustainable development in Mali through the use of culture and cultural events.
The concert bears the title “20 years of playing music‚Äú marking Amalthea”s 20th anniversary. Numerous key artists and choirs will contribute to this unique event, including Los Peque√±os Cantores from Valencia, the choirs ‚ÄúNavarro Reverter‚Äù from Valencia and ‚ÄúCantarella Jovenalla‚Äù from Rafelbunyol; Jesús Salvador ‚ÄúChapi‚Äù (percussion), Juan de la Rubia (organ), Marisol Boullosa (soprano), Luis Vicente (baritone) and the renowned conductors Simon Carrington, co-foundor of the King¬¥s Singers and former professor at the University of Yale, and √âva Kollár, Hungarian expert in choir music. They will interpret “Five Flower Songs‚Äú by Britten, “Pange Lingua‚Äú by Kodaly and “L”Homme Armé‚Äú by the Valencian composer and conductor David Gálvez Pintado who will also be present.
The tickets (5‚Ǩ) for the concert can already be purchased at the Palau de la Música as well as in Servientrada. The benefits will be used to support various projects with homeless children in Bamako.
Other partner organisations of the event are the Palau de la Música which will provide the premises for free as well as the Instituto Internacional de Música Ibérica.
