RECREATURA_arts&culture was created in December 2008 when a group of like-minded Europeans decided to start something they’d all been longing for in Valencia, Spain: a European association dedicated to the idea of active European citizenship through the organisation of innovative and ambitious cultural events. Our events include visual arts, literature, music, performing arts, wine and food, and often take place in up-and-coming venues or other areas of the city. Our intent is to bring people together and build new networks, both social and professional. Through this website we invite you to find out more about our past and future activities.
Read more about who we are »We would like to invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition „Cartografías de la creatividad: 100% valencianos“ accompanied by the curator of the exhibition Rafael Gil and our President and art curator Anne-Marie Melster to take place on Saturday 13 March 2010.
Cartografías de la creatividad: 100% valencianos was opened on 12 February 2010 at the Centre del Carme and will be closed on 2 May. During these three months, visitors are given the opportunity to make themselves familiar with the latest tendencies of contemporary art in Valencia. More than 200 works by 100 artists born in the Valencian Community occupy 2500 square metres exhibition space in the old convent.
Renowned designers such as Culdesac, Odosdesign and Mario Ruiz are among them for example. During our visit, we will have a chat with the Sevillan artist Javier Velasco whose spectacular work ‘Una lluvia de lágrimas’ is placed at the cupula of the building. Tears of glass are hanging in different heights from the ceiling and almost reach the visitors on the floor. This installation can be found in the „Work in progress“ area, next to works of Anna Talens, Álvaro Tamarit, Ernesto Casero, Moisés Mahiques, Álex Francés or Nuria Fuster.
Entrance fee is 2€ for our members and 4€ for the rest, this includes an after exhibition drink. Meeting point is at 12h at the entrance of the Centre del Carme.
